Easy Weaver Tabletop Loom

This is truly a user-friendly loom! It comes already threaded (warped) and ready to weave right out of the box! Which is especially nice on Christmas or birthday morning! (I'm not kidding when I say that we were weaving within 10 minutes after opening the box.) Creating cloth is even easier with the shedmaker(see arrow in picture at left), an attachment on the loom that keeps the yarn open while you weave, similar to the full-size floor models. I've been on the lookout for a good instructional book about weaving for children and teachers for a while - and I finally found it! From simple paper weaving to basket weaving, this excellent guide and project book takes you step-by-step through each project and technique. Both color and black-and-white photos, along with illustrations and diagrams, clearly illustrate each project. Learn how easy it is to weave patterns and pictures on a loom, make a bookmark or belt utilizing the drinking straw weaving method, design your own plaid cloth, weave a bead bracelet, or create a basket - it's all in here. No special or expensive equipment is required (you can make a loom out of a piece of cardboard). The last chapter tells you how to make a frame lap loom and bead loom, if you want something more permanent. This is the very best available. Recommended for ages 8+ and teachers.

This 100% cotton string is super strong. It is the same warp string that comes in our lap loom. This one ounce cone is approximately 28 yards long. I also recommend it for dollmaking string because it is so durable.
